The Troubadours met the Meanskinz for a joint training scrimmage in the BBBL preseason Monday, and the elves looked terrific! The Meanskinz couldn't keep up with the sheer speed of the elf attack and the match devolved into a game of catch between the speedy veteran receivers MacPherson and Jones. Jones worked hard in the off-season and managed to pick up a step to match MacPherson for a fearsomely fast threat duo. After the messy and embarrassing deaths of two throwers last season ownership was worried that they wouldn't find a new passer, but Dwight Moonblaze, cousin of Blitzer Kevin Moonblaze and former star player for the Athelorn Archers, came out of retirement and brings his unique style to the team. Walk-on tryouts resulted in the hiring of head coach Hardtackle's son Fritz to shore up a weakened line after last season's butchering of Jack Plover, and not a moment too soon as Ella Hammersmith pulled up lame in the scrimmage reaggravating her pulled hamstring. As the new season looms Seagrave is looking ever stronger.

Now with actual players!
The first victory was sweet for the troubadours, unfamiliar as they were with each other and playing in the wrong uniforms to boot. The grinding hard earned win against a more skillful and physically tougher Patriots team would have been hard enough. Having to play in ill fitting human uniforms and equipment has led some sports fans to liken the elves' upset to the legendary victory of the Averuj Zugs playing in borrowed uniforms from Naggarond. With their proper uniforms acquired and under the leadership of new head coach Ulfen Hardtackle fans and bettors alike are eager to see how Seagrave fares against two of the dirtiest teams in the league.
